Submarino. Bajo agua, donde empezó todo. Sumergides, buscando el inicio…

El proyecto “Vuelta al Submarino” es un dúo entre voz y cuerpo. Una colaboración experimental entre la bailarina e intérprete Katha Löffler y la compositora y vocalista Lydia Samuels. La manipulación electrónica de la voz crea una belleza torcida que da un espacio en cual el cuerpo se torsiona hasta perder su propia forma. A través del surrealismo, lo lúdico y lo grotesco las artistas se preguntan si en la dystopia de la autodestrucción de la especie humana encontramos algo más que el fin de las estructuras políticas, del sistema económico y del mundo como lo conocemos. Que habrá, cuando ya no existan la propiedad y los privilegios, que nos separen entre humanos y especies? Nos llevan a un viaje a un lugar profundamente sumergido en el cual se pierde todo aquello que nos define. Es allí, donde tal vez encontramos un inicio, utópico.

“Vuelta al Submarino” (“Back to the Submarine”) is an experimental collaboration between dancer/interpreter Katha Löffler and vocalist/composer Lydia Samuels; a duet between voice and body in which the voice, manipulated through live effects, creates a space of twisted beauty in which the body can distort to the point of losing its own shape. Through elements of the surreal, the playful and the grotesque, the artists ask what lies beyond the self destruction of the human species, what will follow the end of political structures, economic systems and the world as we know it? What will we find here after the fall of these divisive structures, the collapse of the property and privileges that divide us from each other and from the other species who inhabit the earth? “Vuelta al Submarino” takes us on a voyage to a deeply submerged place, in which we lose everything that defines us. It’s here where maybe we will find a beginning.
